The King of Loneliness (孤独の王, Kodoku no Ō) is the sixty-second chapter of the Trigun manga. It is also the forty-second chapter of Trigun Maximum.

Summary

Rem discloses to Vash and Knives about, her past, Tesla's birth, and various other topics. When she was finished, she then bows her head to the two. To Vash, Knives acted apathetic to the entire scene and figures it was due to his mental block of what he learned from Tesla's report.

Time goes on and the three of them continue living there life on the ship. That is until Knives orchestrates all of the Project SEEDS to land on Gunsmoke. The incident was known as Big Fall where the cause of it was blamed on a malfunction in the flight program.

In the present, Knives kneels to a series of Plants and then absorbs one of them. Zazie, Elendira, Legato all feel the potent force coming from Knives. Rushing to the scene, Elendira witnesses sees that Knives now fused with the Plant that became his new Angel Arm fires it off into the air. This incident, plunged the world into chaos.
