Double Team is the fifty-fifth chapter of the Trigun manga. It is also the thirty-fifth chapter of Trigun Maximum.

Summary

Wolfwood has a dream where he kills a former colleague and is sequentially confronted by Elendira, Knives, Legato. Awakening in a saloon, Wolfwood pays for his drink and leaves. Keen to the presence that's watching him, Zazie the Beast passes on a message from Knives. She also mentions a group known as the Eye of Michael has a tough job too. Alone again, Wolfwood reflects on his job and Knives' perception of his underlings.

80 hours before the tragedy that struck Jeneora Rock, Wolfwood confronts Knives as he's still rejuvenating from his injuries. Overwhelmed by the potent oppressive feeling that Knives exuded, he recognizes Wolfwood as a member of the Eye of Michael. Knives then conscripts Wolfwood to protect his younger brother Vash.

Returning to the present, Wolfwood cogitates on whether Vash will be able to stop Knives. He's then called out by Vash who sits atop the roof of a building. Somewhere in the outskirts of town, a truck is robbed and back to Vash and Wolfwood. Vash claims he's on the lookout for any shenanigans that'll be pulled when the Ying-Yang Brothers are taken into custody. Pointing his gun at the back of Vash's head, Wolfwood hesitates and merely talks with him. Meanwhile, down in the town an accomplice of the Ying-Yang brothers named Godot stages a rescue of his family. While Godot tries to make a getaway in his stolen truck, Vash confronts the group and gets into a fight with Godot and Wolfwood joins in on it. Thanks to the two's effort, they manage to defeat Godot and stop the truck that his family was in.

We see a brief scene between Meryl and Milly, whereas Milly slept through the chaotic fight that took place that night.
