Hang Fire is the nineteenth episode of the Trigun anime. This episode covers Chapter 3 through Chapter 6 of Trigun Maximum.

Summary

Wolfwood and Vash are lying in the middle of nowhere until a man offers them a ride. While on the back of the ute, Vash and Wolfwood start fighting. The man yells at them, so they become quiet. Then the man asks where the "boys" want to go and the "boys" start fighting over going to Kansas or New Oregon.

Milly and Meryl hear that Vash is travelling to New Oregon and get a ride on a Sand Steamer to get there, too.

Wolfwood goes to New Oregon with Vash and go to a place to eat. Wolfwood tells Vash about the families and how a little girl was murdered due to the feud.

As Wolfwood is almost finished talking, Vash sneaks out and a cat takes his place at the table. Poor Wolfwood is left with the bill.

Vash visits his old friend Max, to find out about the Typhoon coming up (name is Jacquiline).

Milly and Meryl are hostages for bandits on the Sand Steamer and the girls outwit them, and find out about the Typhoon.

The Sand Steamer crashes into the building that Vash and Max are in and the building gets taken over by the bandits.

The bandits are actually the other family, wanting revenge on the guy who killed the girl.

Vash shows up and without killing anyone, defeats the bandits.

The father of the girl wants to avenge his daughter by killing the man who killed her, and Vash tries to stop him, getting beat up in the process.

In the end, the man couldn't kill the man, and Meryl and Milly show up.

Everything is settled and Vash leaves town.

Leonof is sitting in the desert and is talking to Legato.
