Trigun Pilot is the first bonus chapter of the Trigun manga's Tokuma Shoten release. It is the second bonus chapter in the manga's Shōnen Gahōsha release.
Summary[]
A small summary about Gunsmoke is given while Vash stands in front of a mass of graves. Meanwhile, the mayor of a town Dick Bostok and his sheriff Stan discuss a hostage situation involving his daughter Stefany. To make the situation worse, Vash obliviously waltzes into the saloon where the hostage situation is taking place. Immediately he's restrained and is put with the other hostages. Sequentially, Vash becomes acquainted with Stefany and a scene is had between her and the bandit leader Ingway.
Outside of the saloon, Stan prepares a group of shady mercenaries. The mercenaries are notably unfavorable to Dick, but he concedes to the circumstances as he wants his daughter to be rescued. A radio announcement warning the presence of the Humanoid Typhoon is made and it's then that the money and get away vehicle for the hostage arrives. This turns out to be a trap and two of the bandits die in the process. In the confrontation between the bandits and mercenaries, Ingway explains to Stefany her father's dark history as Grim Reaper Bostok. Apparently, he killed the former residents of the town and stole the town's land. Once all of the hired mercenaries are taken care of, Ingway challenges Dick to a duel and Ingway wins. With Dick out of the picture, Sherrif Stan takes over and tries to execute both Vash and Ingway, but is stopped by Vash. He then demands that Stan recite the phrase, "Love and Peace!" aloud, much to everyone else's dismay.
