Summary[]
The Sandsteamer is falling to dire straits as far as reliability, and the captain can do little more but reassure his men that Vash is the only one to do anything. Vash faces down a firing squad while he hears the discovery of Kaite over the radio and the following beating. B.D.N. prepares to execute Vash, but finds himself at gunpoint. Meryl reveals herself and announces her once used the pseudonym of Derringer Meryl. Milly fires off a few shots to calm down the other Bad Lads and introduces herself as Stungun Milly. Meryl is then kind enough to drop the bomb of Vash’s real identity and asks him to deal with the problem. The steamer starts skidding into the canyon walls, unsettling the ride. B.D.N. questions Vash about not a single body being found in the ruins of the city of July. Vash claims no memory, and the boys agree to a duel. Vash wins and B.D.N. stops the Flourish. It starts with a coin toss, mildly interrupted with rocks raining down from the cliffs above, which vash uses for cover. B.D.N. opens fire with both dynamos on his shoulders, missing Vash but for the grace of the rocks. Vash fires one shot, taking out one dynamo, but tearing open his wound in the process. He hits the deck, but B.D.N. is okay, and even a bit irritated at the outcome as he concedes.
