Scars (傷痕, Kizuato) is the sixteenth chapter of the Trigun manga.
Summary[]
As the town that Vash and Monev fought in start to rebuild. Meryl writes a report back to her insurance agency. A flashback reveals Monev telling Vash a bit about his backstory and how he's foolish to allow him to live on. Checking up on Vash in his room, the girls are astonished to see the various scars carved into Vash's body. They then talk about his encounter with Monev and his resolve to get back at someone. The next day, Vash leaves the town with both Meryl and Milly on his tail. Far into the outskirts of the town, Vash finds the crucified body of Monev. It's then that the 2nd Gung-Ho-Gun E.G. Mine appears. In the sequential fight that takes place, Vash easily defeats Mine and fires off a few rounds at Legato who witnesses the entire scene from afar. Vash then proclaims that he's going to hunt down Legato.
