Diablo (DIABLO) is the fourteenth chapter of the Trigun manga. It is also the first chapter of the third volume of the Tokuma Shoten release.
Summary[]
Meryl argues with the town sheriff to release Vash from captivity, but is denied. The sheriff claims that he's the only person in town who could have done it due to the preponderant evidence that's against him. In his cell, Vash swears that he'll get Knives and reminisces about Rem when he was on the SEEDS ship with her. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Rem sacrifices herself to save Vash and his brother Knives. Riding in a preprogrammed escape pod, Knives reveals that he was the cause of the entire incident that made Rem sacrifice herself.
Back in the present, Vash curses Knives and is then visited by Meryl and Milly. They briefly talk with Vash and then a man who is known as Monev the Gale arrives and shoots up the place. He introduces himself and his number in the group known as the Gung-Ho-Guns. Vash and Monev then fight each other and in the chaos that's caused between the two, Monev swears that Vash looks like Diablo.
