Son (息子, Musuko) is the eleventh chapter in the Trigun manga.
Summary[]
Milly and Meryl are discussing the picture when the punk from earlier comes out of the bushes. He’s more chatty this time, and introduces himself as Badwick and explains that he’s the old couple’s oldest son. Milly doesn’t take his familial interactions well and proceeds to attempt to pummel him physically and verbally until Meryl drags her away. Gramps comes out to investigate the noise, surprised to see his son. They talk for a while, and the other thugs hired by Morgan (and the Nebraskas) get impatient. Morgan shows up, irritated at the delay, and Badwick’s inability to kill his parents, and orders the attack.
Badwick is still trying to convince his parents, who believe that Morgan will just use up the land, not care for it, and destroy it. Frustrated that they only seem to care for the land, he brings up his dead brother, which is apparently a sore spot. There wasn’t time for retribution, because when the Nebraska Family attacked. One of the sons, in an armored suit that basically makes him into a big steel ball, crawls out of a crater and runs off.
Morgan warns to avoid the trees and the Nebraska daughter, who got her father’s mouth gripes at him for it. The rest of the family is named, Patricia, the mother; Marilyn, the daughter; Tonkichi; Chinpei and Kanta, the sons. The second attack is launched, and the thugs head in too. Gramps armors up in older style paraphernalia, grabs a rifle, and tells Badwick to run if he thinks he must.
Milly and Meryl are a bit nervous about the situation, but don't notice Vash, who happens to be hiding nearby.
